Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists is proud to be attending this years American Diabetes Association Sunsplash Outdoor Fitness Festival to be held at the UGA Marine Extension Aquarium on Skidaway Island, GA. The event will be held on Saturday Sept. 25th. The Sunsplash Outdoor Fitness Festival combines a walk, cycle & kayak event all on one day to benefit the American Diabetes Association. A morning of vigorous physical activity for walkers, cyclists and paddlers culminates in a family festival featuring live music, health vendors, outfitters and ends with a healthy feast. The event will include:
WALK – Registration 10:00am / Walk 11:00am
Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes, the American Diabetes Association’s signature walk event, invites walkers to form company and family teams to participate in a 5-kilometer walk on a trail along the beautiful Skidaway River.
CYCLE – Registration Opens at 8:00am / Ride Starts 10:00am – 20, 9:00am – 40 & 8:30am – 60 mile. The Association’s cycling event will feature either a 20-mile, 40-mile or 60-mile ride throughout Skidaway Island and The Landings. This event is open to avid cyclists and newcomers to the sport.
KAYAK – Registration at Butterbean Beach 9:30am / Paddle 10:30am. Paddlers of all abilities are invited to bring their kayaks to Butterbean Beach, where the tide will take them down the Skidaway River for a 3-mile paddle to the UGA Marine Extension Aquarium
